For the longest time I knew that I was called to a pastoral role and what I found was that I thought that I would just ignore it til "I" was ready, which didn't work out by the way. It is all Gods timing. I am a firm believer now in our lives being pre-ordained by God. Which is a blog all in its own but God has a calling for your life as he did for me, and more importantly it has been fabricated by Jesus.
You are and individual in the body of Christ, and you have your own role. So now you might be asking yourself "What is my calling in life" or "What is the purpose of my life?" Maybe I can help show you a pathway to finding that answer. This is what God has shown me this week.
I think that there are 5 ways that can help you find what God has for you.
1. Pray. I know that is kinda the obvious one but hey it works yo! Ask God to show what He has for you, He will respond. Maybe in different ways to different people, but He will. i.e. In my one of my previous blogs I talked about how God speaks to certain people, check it out.
2. Start serving in the church. Volunteer your time. This is a good opportunity to find what works, and what doesn't. i.e. Kids vs. Youth Ministry vs. Worship Ministry.
3. Seek Council. - Talk to a pastor, or elder. Someone who knows you.
4. Be Faithful to the above three steps. Don't skip one. In my opinion, I think all three are crucial.
5. Wait, don't get impatient. Remember it is in Gods timing, and Gods timing alone!
Maybe you feel you already know what your calling is... If so, stay focused, and keep The Vision.
If you have questions please let me know. I would love to help.
